nelights: Whaleback Lighthouse is now owned by the American Lighthouse Foundation and its local chapter, Friends of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse. A full restoration is planned, with the ultimate goal of public access via boat tours.

Taken during a site visit in preparation for a historic structure report, to be completed in 2010. Notice the peeling lead paint and extensive rust in the tower's interior.
