"The resort has hosted entertainers such as Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope and Elvis Presley; and served as the location for many films, including James Bond's "Goldfinger", "The Bodyguard" with Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston; and in the movie "Scarface: it's where Tony gets slapped by the girl at the pool."
Thanks for posting this... I was in Indy for a conference a few months back and staying just down the street. It's such a photogenic sculpture, and the interactive sound is pretty cool too.
Wow... what's interesting about this post is that the LL thumbnail shows the old building, GM thumbnail shows the demolition, and YM thumbnail shows the new building... if you look closely you can tell that the LL and YM buildings are not the same.
The old building shown in the LL thumbnail is the Thomas Edison Building, built in 1973 and demolished likely in about 2002/03. Pepco, the local electricity utility, occupied the EdisonBuilding until 1999, and the the World Bank used...
It is rather odd... with the hi-res imagery of Antarctica, you get several layers of "We are sorry, but we don't have imagery at this zoom level for this region" before you get to it.
I just opened this link on a smaller monitor and had to zoom in one more level to actually see the airfield.
No, in order to convert you have to divide the minutes by 60 and the seconds by 3600, then add them all together, so 14° 41'22.15" becomes 41.689486 (41 + 0.683333 + 0.006153), and likewise 75°06'58.17"W becomes -75.116158.
If you're in Google Earth you can set it to display LL in degrees (with decimal) format or in degrees/minutes/seconds, (which is the default), in the Tools --> Options --> View menu.
Well... I don't usually divulge secrets such as these, but...

12th Ave. Truck Sign Refurbished
By JOSH BARBANEL
Perched two stories above seven lanes of traffic along the Hudson, the Mack tractor-trailer emblazoned with the name Yale symbolized the gritty industrial role of the far West Side for decades. Now the headlights in the sign, above 12th Avenue just north of the sleek glass and concrete facade of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, have flicked on again after being dark for years, and the side of the...
The name of the arena was previously MCI Center, but when MCI was acquired by Verizon Communications, the name was changed to "Verizon Center" effective March 5, 2006 [1]. The arena has been nicknamed the "Phone Booth" because of its association with telecommunications companies.
Quicken Loans Arena (aka "The Q") is a multipurpose arena in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, USA. Until August 2005, it was known as Gund Arena, named for Gordon Gund, a former owner of the Cavaliers, after he paid for the naming rights.
Demolition of the stadium began at 3:07 Central Standard Time on November 7, 2005, as the location of the stadium would become part of the outfield and Ballpark Village area for the new Busch Stadium. Unlike recent stadium demolitions, which have been triggered implosions, the ballpark was torn down with a wrecking ball piece-by-piece over a period of a few weeks to avoid any risk of damage to the new structure. At 12:25 AM local time on December 8, 2005, the final standing section of Busch...
On September 28, 2004, a new naming rights deal was signed with Monster Cable, a maker of cables for electronic equipment, and the stadium was renamed Monster Park. Many people erroneously assume the Monster Park name is associated with Monster.com.
A measure passed in the November 2, 2004 election states that the stadium name will revert back to Candlestick permanently after the current contract with Monster Cable expires in 2008.
