Live Maps / Virtual Earth Updates

The Live Maps (Virtual Earth) Blog has a huge post detailing all of the latest updates released to Live Maps today. There are some great new features! Instead of repeating their post, I’ll let you read the details directly, but one thing I’m excited about is being able to export my collections to GeoRSS/KML/GPX. I’m just about to take a cross-country road-trip, and I have a collection of all the places we’re visiting on the way. Now I can export our stops to my GPS device.

Besides collection exporting, updates include higher detail 3D cities, street labels for Birds Eye imagery (that must’ve been hard to get right), MapCruncher integration, enhanced ‘geoweb’ exploring, neighborhood RSS subscriptions of geoweb content, enhanced directions and traffic information and more.
