Today in History – October 3

2001 – Damir Igric (1972–October 3, 2001) commandeered a Greyhound Lines bus en route from Chicago to Orlando, Florida. He slashed the throat of the driver with a utility knife, causing the bus to crash into oncoming traffic. Seven people, including Igric, died as a result from the crash.

2009 – The Poughkeepsie Bridge (sometimes known as the Poughkeepsie Railroad Bridge, the Poughkeepsie-Highland Railroad Bridge, the High Bridge) is renamed the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park.
