A landslide this morning heavily damaged one home and created a sinkhole about 50 yards long beneath a residential street on Mt. Soledad, a pricey neighborhood on the edge of La Jolla.

There were no reports of injuries. Homeowners in the area were asked to leave in case the hillside continued to slide. Officials said half a dozen homes appeared to be at risk.
