5th Precint, NYPD. It's Chinataown, Jake.

This is the New York City Police Department 5th Precinct, in Chinatown. Throughout the 1960, the NYPD tried to tear it down and build a newer building. The locals wouldn't have any of that, and though much of the interior has been remolded, the building still stands. And like many NYPD front doors, the ground is littered with thousands of butts.

Read Henry Chang's "Detective Yu" series for an interesting and fairly accurate view of crime in New York's Chinatown. Mr. Chang grew up and lives in NYC's Chinatown. He's changed the names, but if you know anything about NYC tongs, it's pretty obvious who he's writing about.
