This 6,600 seat arena opened on December 30, 2010. It was an expansion project to the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center complex.

The arena is the home of the University of Minnesota Duluth hockey teams. The first season in this arena was a memorable one for the men's team, which won the school's first NCAA Division I national title in April 2011.
