The race team was founded in 1993 and was known as Forsythe Green Racing after co-owners Barry Green and Gerry Forsythe. Green took sole ownership the next year and renamed it Team Green. In 2003, Andretti bought the majority stake in the team and renamed it Andretti Green Racing. Green left after the 2009 season, and the team became Andretti Autosport.
