Augustusburg Palace, the Mecca of motorcycle and carriage fans, is one of the most important renaissance castles in Germany. The Palace, also known as the "Crown of the Ore Mountains, can be recognised from far away and is fascinating due to its monumentality and architectural beauty. On behalf of the Elector of Saxony August I, Hieronymus Lotter, who had also built the Former Leipzig Town Hall, erected the Palace between 1568 and 1572. Augustusburg Palace is arranged in a regular way and consists of four wings. Together with linking wings and a yard it forms a Greek cross. In spite of an eventful history and architectural changes within the last centuries it has been a popular destination for decades. First of all bikers enjoy Europe`s most extensive motorcycle museum.
