Largest single dormitory in the World, named after former Secretary of the Navy George Bancroft, is home for the entire brigade of 4,000 midshipmen, and contains some 1,700 rooms, five miles of corridors, and 33 acres of floor space.

The red patio on either side of the center area is known as "The Red Beach." Midshipmen often sunbathe there (or we did back in '81 anyway.)

The big white 'T' in the center is the dining hall where all 400 midshipmen plus guests, visiting teams, officers, etc. all sit down to eat at once.
