Lawrence Batley, OBE, developed the concept of cash and carry in 1958, when he opened the first C&C depot in the UK in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

The original name was 'Come and Get It' . Four decades later the Batley's chain of Cash & Carry depots have grown to the extent that there are now 18 depots throughout the UK.
