Glenn Edward "Bo" Schembechler, Jr. (April 1, 1929 – November 17, 2006) was college football head coach at Miami University (1963-1968) and the University of Michigan (1969-1989). Bo is best known for his years at Michigan (13 Big Ten Conference Titles) and his rivalry with Ohio State coach, Woody Hayes.

The sculpture was completed in 2014 by J. Brett Grill.
