In the fall of 1961, at the age of 20, folksinger Bob Dylan rented his first New York apartment in the back of the top-floor at 161 West Fourth Street for $60 a month.

Bruno's Spaghetti occupied the basement of the building, while an unfinished furniture store sat just above, where Tic Tac Toe, an adult boutique, is now situated.
