Border Field State Park

Border Field State Park

San Diego, California (CA), US
Southwesternmost point en los contiguous Estados Unidos. During WWII there was an auxillary airfield at this site. Later on the land was used as a naval bombing range. Areas of the park today contain unexploded ordnance... so watch your step. And enjoy your view to the south - a big black border fence between us and them. If the fence wasn't there, one could very easily take a leisurely stroll along Tijuana's beachside community, perhaps grab some lunch or a Coke. Sadly, that just isn't allowed.
