The historic 1814 Boston Manufacturing Company textile mill is on the National Register of Historic Places as America’s first factory. The buildings are now occupied by the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation, studios of the Waltham Mills Artists Association, and subisidized housing for seniors.
