Denmark's Aquarium (Danish: Danmarks akvarie) is the largest aquarium in Denmark and features about 1 million litres of water, spread out on 70 different aquariums. Denmark's Aquarium started construction in 1937 and was opened in 1939. In 1974, the aquarium were expanded to feature 5 large landscape aquaries and a biological museum with temabased exibits and aquaries. In 1990, they were further expanded by a ney fronthall, Café, improved toilet facilities and a schoolerservice. The main purpose of the aquaria is to send marine information onto global plane, help science projects, and improve educational institutions.
