Mr. Griffin received a B.S. Degree in Physics Engineering at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. After receiving a Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of Texas, Mr. Griffin joined Exxon Company USA in 1969. It was there that Fred Griffin began his real estate career with Friendswood Development Company, a subsidiary of Exxon Corporation, one of Houston’s largest real estate developers. As an integral part of Friendswood’s growth, he played a key role in the purchase, planning, and development of Kingwood, Woodlake, Greenspoint, Copperfield, Clear Lake City, and other substantial projects throughout the greater Houston area. In 1980 Mr. Griffin, with Conley Juban, formed Griffin/Juban Companies, the predecessor to Griffin Partners. The Griffin/Juban Companies – and subsequently Griffin Partners - have completed ground-up development projects encompassing more than 4,000,000 square feet of corporate office and retail space.

In addition to serving as Chairman of Griffin Partners, Fred serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Clear Lake Economic Development Foundation. He also enjoys playing golf and traveling throughout the world. He and his wife live in Houston and have two children. Fred’s son, Edward, is now President of Griffin Partners.
