Gauless Viaduct was railway viadcut with a hight of 161 feet and a span of 640 feet. The railway viadcut was built to carry the South Durham and Lancashire Union Railway over the River Gaunless and to cross the Haggerleases Branch (now disused).

What's left today:
The two massive bridge abutments still stand at each their end, but bricked at the top. One of the bridge's paired circular bricked piers still stand today. The other piers have been demolished, but remains can be seen at the bottom of the valley.
