The Adderly boys were prominent jazz performers in the 1950's and 60's. Cannonball played the alto saxophone and Nat played cornet and trumpet. Both are from Tallahassee, Florida and played with Ray Charles during his time in Tally. The brothers moved to New York in the 50's and created the Cannonball Adderly Quintet and later sextet. Cannonball also played with Miles Davis before John Coltrane rejoined the group and Nat played with Lionel Hampton for a spell.
