Actually, although John Pierpont Morgan's father was indeed named Junius Spencer Morgan, this was not his home. That Junius S. Morgan died roughly thirty years before this house was built. The Junius S. Morgan who built this home was a nephew of J. P. Morgan. He was named after his maternal grandfather, and much like his Uncle Pierpont, he was a great collector.

The below comment is false. “Salutation” was built by Junius S Morgan, grandson of J Pierpont Morgan and son of J P Morgan Jr. (the only surviving son of the “great Pierpont) Yes - Pierpont’s father was also Junius S Morgan.
