The Karl-Marx-Haus (Brückenstrasse 10) is an old burgher's house is where Karl Marx (1818-83) was born and where he lived until he finished school in 1835.
The museum has exhibits on Marx's personal history, volumes of poetry, original letters, and photographs with personal dedications. There's also a collection of rare first editions and international editions of his works, as well as exhibits on the development of socialism in the 19th century.
In the vicinity of the museum is a study center, Studienzentrum Karl-Marx-Haus, Johannestrasse 28 (same phone), for research on Marx and Engels.
