It started as a joke - the daily Philadelphia paper was sponsoring a collection to put up a mural of Frank Sinatra in the city. One of the smaller weeklies pointed out that Sinatra was from Jersey, and Philadelphians should be honoring their native sons instead. Sons like Larry Fine.
The weekly paper wasn't really serious about the mural, but then people started pledging donations. So they figured, heck - why not? [Ian B., 04/27/2003]
Lots of other murals in the neighborhood. All the houses on the north side of this street and around the corner to the NE.
