Started in 1941, as the Aircraft Engine Research Lab, the Glenn Center (formerly called the Lewis Center) comprises over 150 buildings on a 350-acre main campus, adjacent to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, and the 6400-acre Plum Brook field station near Sandusky, Ohio, 50 miles west of Cleveland.
