Lustron Homes were factory-built structures, made of porcelean enamel. They were made from 1948-1950 during the postwar housing boom as low-maintenance alternatives to wood or aluminum-sided homes.Three models were available. Only about 3000 were made.
Several Lustrons sit together in Oak Park, Michigan. Some have been heavily modified, others remain easily identifiable as Lustrons.
