Peter R. Coneway's House

Peter R. Coneway is a Managing Director of Riverstone Holdings focused on sourcing, structuring and executing energy investments. He is based in Houston.

Riverstone Holdings is a private equity firm focused on leveraged buyout and growth capital investments in the energy and power sectors. The firm focuses on oil and gas exploration, midstream pipeline, electric generation, energy and power services as well as energy and power technology. The firm is a leading investor in renewable energy infrastructure and technology.

Prior to joining Riverstone, Mr. Coneway served as United States Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein from 2006-2008. Prior to that, he was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs & Co., and Head of the Houston office, which he founded in 1975. Having started at Goldman in 1969, he was named a General Partner in 1978 and established Goldman Sachs' Equities Sales, Trading and Research Division in Tokyo in 1987.

Mr. Coneway serves on the Board of Directors of Cobalt International Energy. In Texas, Mr. Coneway previously served on the Governor’s Business Council, as a member of The University of Texas System Board of Regents, and as Chairman of the University’s M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Board of Visitors. He is currently a Trustee of The Museum of Fine Arts - Houston, a member of the Board of Directors of the Texas Heart Institute and continues to serve as a member of the M.D. Anderson Board of Visitors.

Mr. Coneway received his M.B.A. from Stanford University. He received a B.B.A. from the University of Texas.
