Pratapgad is a fort located in the mountains of the Western Ghats in the Satara district. The fort is known as the setting of the November 10, 1659 Battle of Pratapgarh. The battle helped usher in the Maratha Empire led by Shivaji Bhonsle.

The fort is 1,080 meters (3,500 feet) above sea level. The view is amazing.
