Located next to the Milwaukee River, this opened as a vaudeville theater in 1928. The seating area has two levels with a balcony which begins just 35 feet from the stage. Old-fashioned elevated box seats are located along each side wall.
In the early 1980's, plans were in place to demolish the building, but a public rally helped save the historical landmark. After undergoing a $1.5 million renovation, it reopened in 1984. Further renovations were completed in 2005.
Many well-known touring music and comedy acts perform here throughout the year. Today, the theater is operated by the same group that runs the nearby Pabst Theater and Turner Hall.
