Scharfenstein Castle, which is over 750 years old, hosts a unique collection called "Longing for the Light". For decades Johannes Martin has collected old evidence of local handicraft for this "Toy and Christmas Museum". Visitors can admire exhibits of traditional and modern folk art. Lots of the masterpieces can be touched, moved or even felt. Furthermore, guests can enjoy an exhibition dealing with the history of the Castle and Karl Stülpner, the local popular hero. "Zisterne", "Bergfried" and the exhibition room "Tonne" are also a must. Of course, it is possible to purchase local handicraft products or watch how these products being made. Why not stop at the "Burgschänke" restaurant or enjoy a wonderful view from the observation tower?
