This narrow path is called "Apprezzami l'asino", i.e. "Appraise my donkey", because in ancient times it was so narrow that when two peasants had to pass by riding their donkeys, coming from opposite, one of them had to throw his donkey down the cliff, and the other had to pay him for it!
