This 1/4 mile high banked clay oval track is located at the Butte County Fairgrounds. Cars have been racing here since the 1930's - first on a 1/4 mile track, then on a 1/2 mile track from 1948-51. The local racers ran on other tracks in Chico from 1952-61. The current track was created in 1962.
Sprint cars, modifieds, and stock cars race here on Friday nights. The track has hosted the prestigious Gold Cup Race of Champions sprint car event since 1980.
