'My perception of the world is that very little of it is stable,' she says." -Vancouver Sun, July 19,1986 The sculpture was installed as one of ten pieces in the City Shapes sculpture symposium in the City's centennial year. There was some resistance to its installation at the time on the part of the Park Board Commissioner Patricia Wilson who had several concerns: "One, it's too large for the park. Two, it's inappropriate and modernistic for a natural setting." She also felt it conflicted with the native carvings planned for the site. But Stefan Bugil of the Sculptors' Society of BC countered, "There's no controversy at all in my mind....What's happening is simply the language of public art. Some people will say, 'What the hell is that?' Others will say, 'Oh, that's beautiful." - Vancouver Sun, Aug 26, 1986
