Subaru XT

Subaru XT

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (PA), US
The Subaru XT, also known as the Subaru Alcyone in Japan and the Subaru Vortex was produced from 1985 to 1991. Known for its extreme wedge design, it was first available with a naturally-aspirated or turbocharged flat-4 engine, but since the engine wasn't too competitive with other models, a XT6 model with a flat-6 engine was introduced in 1987 for the 1988 model year. However, it was never officially sold in New Zealand as it wasn't viable for its 96 octane fuel, yet one example in that country with the 6-cylinder, known as the "Vortex ZZ6" is still on the road to the present day. Its interior was also polarizing, as it was inspired by aircraft. 98,918 XTs, XT6s, Alcyones, and Vortexes combined were built before being replaced by the Subaru SVX for the 1992 model year.
