Clearly a former airfield. From the shape and size, I guess it is a WWII-era auxiliary airfield.

Definately a WWII flight training centre. There were also located all over the prairies - Albert to Manitoba.

*** The most correct name of this map is:

former No. 1 Relief Landing Field / former Burtch Correctional Centre

You can probably get rid of Land > Designs.

This is definitely an RCAF WWII era military airfield... whatever category that is, go ahead and file it under that.

This field served the nearby RCAF Station Brantford's No. 5 Service Flying Training School which was located at what is now the Brantford Municipal Airport.

After WWII, this site became the Burtch Correctional Centre (opened 1948 - closed 2003.)

Today, Canada's Six Nations people is seeking to reclaim this land which was once theirs long ago before the government expropriated it in 1941 for war use.
