Tex Ritter's House (former)

Tex Ritter's House (former)

Nashville, Tennessee (TN), US
The country singer and actor lived here from 1968 to 1980. His son, the late John Ritter (of Three's Company fame), owned the home from 1980 to 1984. The home that the Ritters occupied has been razed and replaced by this much larger one featured here. However, this is the correct parcel.

Tex widow continued living here after his death on the Opry stage in 1975. She stayed in Nashville until 1980 before moving to CA to be closer to her sons.

This information is not correct. You should confirm basic details before posting. Tex died on Jan 2, 1974, sitting in a chair at the Davidson County Jail. He was waiting to bail out a band member for not paying child support. Miss Dorothy lived in the house for several years after that before moving back to LA. John never lived in the house. Son Tom inherited the property. And, from what I know from growing up in Nashville when they lived here, this isn't the property. It's around the corner on Franklin Pike.
