Tourlitis Lighthouse

Andros, Greece (GR)
1887. Active; focal plane 19 m (62 ft); two white flashes every 15 s. 7 m (23 ft) round stone tower with lantern and gallery. The lighthouse is unpainted white stone; lantern painted white. This location of this lighthouse, perched on an isolated rock, is unique among Greek lighthouses. There are no keeper's quarters; stairs cut into the rock lead down to a crude landing site. Since Ándros Chóra is a frequent stop for cruise ships, photos of the lighthouse are fairly common. Located on a rock in the harbor of Ándros Chóra. Accessible only by boat.
