U2 engine shot down over Cuba
Havana, Cuba (CU)
Major Rudolph Anderson Jr. of the U.S. Air Force was the only casualty during the Cuban Missile Crisis. The major was shot down on October 27, 1962 in his U2 spy plane flying over Cuba.
