The Villa Schöningen is a residental building in Potsdam. By order of the king Frederick William IV of Prussia designed the architect Ludwig Persius the house in 1843. Since 1996 is the Villa Schöningen a part of the Berlin-Potsdam UNESCO-world heritage.

Mathias Döpfner, CEO of the media group Axel Springer AG now owns Villa Schöningen. Since 2006 Döpfner has been an advisory board member at U.S. media group Time Warner. He is also on the advisory boards of German media conglomerate ProSiebenSat.1 Media and the Deutsche Presse-Agentur German press agency.
