At the Duisburg-Walsum site, STEAG operates a two-unit CHP plant. The plant produces not just power but also district heat (which is supplied to the district heating network in the Lower Rhine area), process steam (for the Norske Skog paper mill located near the plant) and compressed air (for the Walsum mine).
