World's Largest Tree Crusher

World's Largest Tree Crusher

Mackenzie, Canada (CA)
In November 1964, this unassembled machine arrived in Mackenzie, British Columbia, by rail. After the pieces were put together, the task of moving it four miles to the work site were a bigger chore than anticipated. It became stuck several times before winter weather forced the project to a halt after only moving 2.5 miles. It eventually found its way to the work site the following spring and was used throughout the summer before being parked in November 1965.

It remained parked in that location until 1984, when it was decided to move it 38.5 miles back to Mackenzie to be displayed as a roadside attraction.
