On Friday 29th March 2024 at 14:24 UTC, Zdenko 9A4FM, a radio amateur from Croatia, made contact with Ingo DK3RED/P, a radio amateur from Germany, who was operating from Müggelspreeniederung Köpenick (DLFF-1087), on the 40m amateur radio band. Ingo made a total of 53 contacts while at the reserve.
Müggelspreeniederung Köpenick (DLFF-1087), is a protected area of 783.42 hectares lying in the south-western outskirts of Berlin, Germany. It was established in 2017 and is an IUCN Management Category IV area. It is also part of the Natura 2000 network.
An IUCN Management Category IV area is an area to protect particular species or habitats and are managed to prioritise this objective.
Natura 2000 aims to protect many of Europe's most vulnerable and threatened habitats and species.
