On Wednesday 3rd April 2024 at 08:08 UTC, Danny ON4VT, a radio amateur from Belgium made contact with Larry F8FSC/P, a radio amateur from France who was operating from Natura 2000 - Bresse jurassienne (FFF-1060), on the 40m amateur radio band. Larry made a total of 151 contacts while at the reserve.
Natura 2000 - Bresse jurassienne (FFF-1060)[Natura 2000 - Jura Bresse] is a protected area which covers 9,477 hectares in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté Region of France to the east of the city of Lyon in the south-east of France. It is a Type A Des Zones de Protection Spéciales (ZPS)Special Protection Areas (SPAs)].
Natura 2000 aims to protect many of Europe's most vulnerable and threatened habitats and species. ZPS areas aim to conserve the wild bird species listed in Annex I of the EU “Birds Directive or to protect an area where migratory birds breed, moult or lay-over.
