The Third Avenue Theater was built in 1890 and operated initially as a burlesque house. Later in the early 1970's, it was renamed Paris Theater and had a 4-year run of “Deep Throat”. Today, it is still an "adult" theater, though one thinks that isn't a business model that can be sustained for much longer in downtown Portland, where it has become a very stylish area to live.
