It was at the height of the Battle of Britain. An Irish Spitfire pilot was being interviewed on the BBC, detailing his harrowing escape after being jumped by two German Fighters.
The Irish fighter pilot, " I had just circled over the White Cliffs of Dover, when suddenly, these two Fokkers came at me, diving right out of the sun."
The BBC correspondent, "For you folks at home, Fokkers is the type of fighter aircraft the Germans were piloting."
Irish pilot, " No, actually these two Fokkers were flying Messerschmitts."
