'Word Hunt' Street View Scavenger Hunt

This month's Scavenger Hunt is a 60-point Google Street View (SV) hunt with a focus on finding words in SV imagery. The hunt starts on Wed September 17 2008 at noon EST, and will last two weeks.
Only Google Street View imagery is accepted, and the imagery must depict a clearly readable word from the category list.
The top 5 contenders will receive a free copy of Off the Map: The Most Amazing Sights on Earth as Seen by Satellite from our friends at Google Sightseeing:
The first place winner will also receive a $25 Amazon.com gift certificate.

For the URL truncation problem, I've fixed this one the server side. URLs were being truncated to 255 characters, which was too small for some Google Street View URLs. I've changed this field to be 500 characters in length, so you thankfully shouldn't have to do the workarounds Kevin (kjfitz) mentions.
Let me know of any other problems.

Hmm. You are not supposed to be able to. I removed the hunt category from one of them. We'll need to audit all the other categories before we award the winner to make sure there aren't others that accidentally made it through. With the URL length bug a many submissions were getting rejected early in the hunt and many people were having to submit and re-submit the same maps until the URLs were correct. That's probably why he accidentally submitted two.

The moderators have discussed the Google submissions which are all the same type of reflection of the Google car. Since the actual sign on the car is the same "word" being submitted in each map then we deem them all duplicates of the original submission:
Please refrain from using other people's posts to submit your own nearby variation. It really isn't in the spirit of the game.
In the future we now feel forced to add paragraphs and paragraphs of special rules and disclaimers, detailed descriptions and warnings.
For instance:
1) A word is a word... a word isn't characters extracted from the middle of another word. We've deleted credit for these types of posts.
2) If a word is on a poster on one side of a door the grabbing a second instance of the word off the same poster or the same poster posted a few feet away is really stretching the spirit of the game. There is one instance of a second poster nearby the first being submitted. Since it is technically valid we'll let it stand but if more show up we reserve the right to delete credit for all of them.
3) Posting a fuzzy blob of text that is supposed to be the word on hopes that it'll get accepted is not within the spirit of the hunt. We've deleted credit for those.

As always with the hunts, you guys have the difficult task of deciding what's good and what's not. I appreciate the extra effort to keep this hunt fair and fun.
Google's low resolution FuzzyView scenes make this hunt even more straining - on the eyes and on my patience. I've probably had less than a 1% success rate of going to a site with a known business or sign and finding a usable submission due to Google's decision to shelf the high resolution cameras.
Also, you can delete my Mickey Mouse mural submission. I worked my butt off to find it, but it honestly isn't legible. If I didn't explain it in the title or description, no one would have a clue what that scene is about.

Yeah, I was the one that submitted the map of a duplicate "Le Tour" poster. Now I know not to do that any more to make this a fair game for all. Also, thanks a lot for not removing it.

The 'Word Hunt' Street View Scavenger Hunt, it is being very interesting, in the next theme, my suggestion would be the person with 'vehicle' (bus, truck, bicycle, boat, motorcycle) ...
