Can I confirm that map comments are not included in the search? The search would be more robust by including the comments in order to correct title mistakes or add additional info on a submission.
Does that increase the search time unreasonably?
Maybe in advanced search options...

Correct, currently only the map title, description and city are included in the search. Adding comments makes the query much more complicated (and slower), but I will still try to think about making search more robust.

I think one thing that would be easy to code and yet offer much more refinement of results would be allowing quoted search terms: Example: "goodyear blimp" only returns occurrences of the string "goodyear blimp", but not EVERYTHING with "goodyear" *or* "blimp".
Also required and excluded words ("+" and "-").
These changes would not be DB intensive and fairly easy to code.

"goodyear or blimp" actually works as you describe!
