Besides the 'unannouced' changes in the March 23 Google Earth database update that are only now coming to light Google has announced another small update today that includes data as recent as March 2006.
Today's update includes:
* a very recent 3"/pixel inset for Las Vegas (March, 2006)
* added/restored Koh Tao and several other islands in Thailand
* removed black seam in Massachusetts
* minor changes in Munich
* minor changes in Mumbai and Chandigarh

I've been looking at the updates in Sudan and I think they're all slums. Any ideas? Also, it seems that Google is almost avoiding the Taj Mahal. They've filled in so much of India, its a shame they left Agra out.

I think they pick areas around major airports ('major' in Sudan is somewhat relative). If you turn on the airport layer in GE you'll find airports are in most of the new areas.
