I know this is mostly of interest to Aussies and sailors, but the annual Sydney to Hobart race is available to Google Earth users via a nifty KML feed which is updated every 15 minutes.
The boats have GPS and the kml file has the route, positions and info on all the boats.
The race takes place Dec 26-28
