Congratulations Nic and everyone on surpassing the 5000 map-mark. My suspicion is that the next 5000 will come much faster than the first.

Hard to know for certain, because the submission numbers, tagged to each entry, are well over 5400. But this includes all rejected and deleted maps.

I based it on the counter next to "all" that says there have been 5018 maps and the fact that the maps in "Today's Maps" are in reverse submission order. Then I counted back 18. Also remembered there were 4993 when I went to bed last night and seven from the other end gives the same map.

There were something like 4997 maps when I opened Google Globetrotting today and submitted some that I had bookmarked earlier, five I think.
