The world's most famous whistle-blower lived here while he was working for Dell inside the NSA's Hawaii regional operations center. Snowden quit his job at Dell on March 15, 2013, moved out of this home on May 1 and fled to Hong Kong on May 20.
It was in Hawaii where Snowden made his first illegal downloads during the summer of 2012 and where he would later copy an estimated 1.7 million classified NSA documents.
Snowden currently resides in Russia. In August 2014, he was granted a three-year residence permit.
