HMS Gannet is so called stone frigate or Royal Navy land establishment at Prestwick Airport where it hosts Fleet Air Arm helicopter squadrons. Gate guardian at HMS Gannet is Fairey Gannet AEW.3 XL497. Its future fate is in doubt since the MoD tried to sell it by auction in 2005 but there were no bidders.
